About Us

The Carbon Lighthouse Association (CLA) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Founded to offer consumers a more impactful alternative to the offset market, CLA procures carbon allowances from domestic, government-regulated carbon markets. Then we hold the allowances indefinitely so they can never be used by a power plant to emit carbon dioxide.

This revolutionary process provides our customers with the highest assurance that their investment is resulting in real emissions reductions as well as the disruption of incentives propagating the fossil fuel system. As a nonprofit, all revenue that we receive goes to the purchase of carbon allowances and administration costs.

CLA was founded by Brenden Millstein, CEO of Carbon Lighthouse, Inc.

Carbon Lighthouse, Inc. is a for-profit company that develops energy efficiency and renewable energy projects to help real estate stakeholders profitably eliminate their buildings’ carbon footprints. Carbon Lighthouse, Inc. donates some of its proceeds to the Carbon Lighthouse Association in order to offset some of their clients’ emissions.
